Which of my photographs is my favorite? The one I’m going to take tomorrow.
- Imogen Cunningham
Simply said … I love photography … every aspect of it.
I grew up in a family of shutterbugs who love to photograph the ordinary, and the extraordinary events of our lives. I love that we have cabinets full of photo albums documenting every stage of life, every vacation, every graduation, every wedding, every new child.
My first camera, a Kodak Instamatic X-30, was purchased when I was eleven years old; it was followed by several little automatic cameras, until I took the leap to SLR photography when I purchased a Pentax K1000 at the age of seventeen.
Throughout my college and young adult years I studied the art of photography and dabbled in darkroom processing, all the while taking thousands of photos … some good, some great, and some really bad … but I treasured each and every one of them.
Although my old Pentax is still a fine camera, today I shoot with a digital SLR camera, using top quality lenses and professional processing software.
French photographer, Henri Cartier-Bresson, said, “Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst,” and now that I am well past my first 10,000 photographs, my goals are to create beautiful prints and to take the moments you treasure and turn them into great memories.
I would love to hear from you!
